57th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Transfusion Medicine and Immunohaematology (DGTI) together with the 31st Annual Meeting of the German Society for Immunogenetics (DGI)
It is a great pleasure to announce an exceptional Joint Congress:
The 57th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Transfusion Medicine and Immunohaematology (DGTI) will be held together with the 31st Annual Meeting of the German Society for Immunogenetics (DGI) as a joint event. From 11 to 13 September 2024, both societies will meet in Düsseldorf at the CCD Congress Center. This venue combines the optimal accessibility of one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe with a very attractive environment for the congress directly on the river of the Rhine in Düsseldorf.
Interdisciplinary cooperation and collaboration are the focal points of this event. In particular, we would like to further expand the approach of the "Neighbour Day". Based on the location of the event venue and the longstanding collaborations of the organising institutes at the university hospitals in Essen and Düsseldorf, the focus will be on international cooperation with colleagues in the Netherlands. Plenary sessions will be organised in cooperation with, for example, Eurotransplant, the EBMT and Sanquin. In addition to the classical topics of transfusion medicine, immunogenetics will be a particular focus. Other important topics will be innovative new cell therapies and current developments and challenges posed by the rapidly expanding field of artificial intelligence.
The congress programme will offer an attractive mix of current science and practice-oriented continuing education, not only for young physicians and scientists, but especially also for non-scientific staff. A joint congress in particular creates ideal conditions for a lively interdisciplinary exchange and enables intensive communication and networking between the congress participants and also with the exhibiting industry, which will be intensively integrated into the congress events.
On behalf of the organising committee and on behalf of the executive boards of the DGTI and the DGI, we are very much looking forward to welcoming you in Düsseldorf in September 2024!
Peter Horn, Falko Heinemann and Johannes Fischer
